Overview

ORLEANS BROTHERS, nestled in the heart of New Orleans at 5941 Bullard Ave, is a takeout gem that captures the soulful flavors of the city’s rich culinary heritage. From the moment you step up to the counter, the essence of classic Creole and Cajun fare is unmistakable, promising a genuine taste of NOLA’s best.

Their signature Large Crawfish Pie stands as a crowning achievement—each pie boasts a delicate, buttery crust filled with a soufflé-like, richly seasoned crawfish blend. This dish, alongside the Crawfish Stuffed Baked Potato, highlights the brand’s mastery in balancing flavor and texture. The baked potato version spices things up a notch, delivering a hearty, satisfying experience that lingers on the palate. These offerings reflect Orleans Brothers’ dedication to showcasing authentic local ingredients in innovative yet comforting ways.

Another cornerstone of their menu is the Beef Yakamein, a true New Orleans classic. Slow-cooked beef in a savory broth, served with noodles and garnished with a boiled egg and green onions, creates a comforting bowl that resonates with deep, layered flavors. Customers often praise the gumbo—brimming with chicken, sausage, crab, and shrimp over fluffy white rice—where every spoonful tells a story of tradition and culinary pride.

What sets ORLEANS BROTHERS apart is not just the food but the atmosphere and customer connection. While the space itself is minimal—a straightforward lobby with counter service and no dine-in tables—it exudes a warm, welcoming vibe amplified by lively music and friendly staff. Owner interactions, as shared by patrons, elevate the experience, making every visit feel personal and memorable. This rustic setting seems intentionally unpretentious, shifting focus squarely onto the quality and authenticity of the food.

Ideal for locals and travelers alike, ORLEANS BROTHERS appeals to those who crave classic New Orleans dishes made with care, as well as anyone eager to explore flavors steeped in Creole and Cajun tradition. Whether you’re new to regional specialties or a longtime enthusiast, the combination of prize-winning gumbo, stellar crawfish pies, and fresh pralines offers a well-rounded taste adventure.

In essence, ORLEANS BROTHERS stands as a beacon for convenient, authentic New Orleans cuisine. It’s a place where every bite connects you to the culture, history, and spirit of the city, made all the more meaningful by its down-to-earth charm and family-oriented approach.

My first time having yakamein and it was so good! I don't like soup and was drinking the broth. The Gumbo was super tasty too. I wasn't a fan of the pies but not because they weren't good I'm just weird about texture. My man was more than happy to eat my pies for me so they weren't wasted! Can't wait to go back.

Gumbo was an experience! First bite was salty then spicy. Almost too salty, and I like salty usually. Lots of meat. Mini crawfish pie was good but just really small for $5, like an hors d'oeuvre. Almost no atmosphere except for the cool restaurant logo, which I think they could print on t-shirts and sell! No tables. Just an empty lobby and counter.

I took a 2 hour drive after seeing a Mr. Chimetime video that stated the restaurant would be giving out 2 free crawfish pies to the first 100 people from 12-6pm. I arrived at 3pm they were all gone and i know why after purchasing 2. They were good but that Gumbo and potato salad combo was fire. I wish I would have ordered a gallon. The praline are super fresh and delicious. Glad I was able to visit. Definitely going back to try more of the menu.

The crawfish pies Are the BEST . I’ve been ordering crawfish pies since he was delivering to his customers , very family oriented and when you go into his place of work it’s always a vibe with the music and they always have the tv on and the customer serve is TOP TIER. And has always been ! I love how he has different sizes of crawfish pies but that’s not the only thing you need to try I would suggest you try EVERYTHING ! You would not be disappointed

Came in from outta state to try the crawfish pies. Bought two mini pies, a crawfish baked potato and box of pralines. Tried the crawfish pies in the car and walked right back in to order more! The pies are like Cajun souffles, inside a buttery crust. The baked potato was full of crawfish, a bit spicier than everything else well worth the price for the huge serving size. Talked to the owners Krystal and Terrance and they were so very hospitable and really made the trip to NOLA memorable. They offered us a cup of their famous gumbo, which won bronze last year and it was so delicious and brimming with fresh ingredients. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, everything is so good. My only regret is not ordering more boxes of those paralines.

Get the crayfish pies. They aren't pies they are pillows of heavenly goodness. Also the gumbo best I have ever had in my life NO OKRA, the rue is rich enough to drink and every single bite had a bit of shrimp, two kinds of sausage, crab chicken and the voices of his ancestors telling him it was ready to serve...but wait he made us try it with a grilled cheese sandwich. Yes you heard me--we dipped it into the gumbo and this is the only way I will eat gumbo ever again. Then I had the crayfish stuffed baked potato. Needless to say the sauce was great, I have no clue what he puts in it, but i tell you this GO to Orleans Brothers. OMG I almost forgot the pralines made by wife. Forget every other place in NOLA for pralines. Zero grit. Rich and creamy and the perfect size for eating an entire container. They will be a go to every time I am in NOLA. Froze my gumbo to bring home! See yall soon

Crawfish stuffed baked potato was delicious. You have to get there early because they run out early. But it's definitely good. They're also known for their gumbo, crawfish pies, and yakamein. I haven't tried but others that I know who has says it's good.
